All 5 bubble styles
Bubble letters are Unicode symbols, not a font. Screen readers may read each one by name, so keep names and keywords you want found in plain text.
A bubble text generator swaps each letter and number for an enclosed version from Unicode, so your text looks like it sits inside bubbles wherever you paste it. "Bubble Text 123" becomes β·β€ββββ βββ§β£ β β‘β’.
White bubble letters come from the Enclosed Alphanumerics block, part of Unicode since version 1.1 in 1993. Black bubble, square, and black square letters come from the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement and exist only as capitals. Unicode also has single circled numbers from β to γΏ.
This generator shows all 5 styles at once, circles whole numbers, flags letters that may turn into emoji, and converts any bubble text back to plain text. Everything runs in your browser.
Type your text
All five bubble styles update as you type. Choose Whole numbers to put 10, 25, or 50 in a single circle.
Pick a style
Compare white and black bubbles, squares, and parentheses, with each style's character count and weight on X.
Copy and paste
Copy one style or all of them as a numbered list. Paste a short test first, since each app draws these symbols with its own font.
Only white bubbles and parentheses have lowercase letters. Square styles have no enclosed digits, so their numbers stay plain.
| Style | Example | Unicode name | A starts at | Lowercase | Digits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Bubble | β·β€ββββ βββ§β£ β β‘β’ | CIRCLED LATIN LETTER | βΆ U+24B6 | β U+24D0 | Yes |
| 2. Black bubble | π π €π π π π π £π π §π £ βΆβ·βΈ | NEGATIVE CIRCLED LATIN CAPITAL LETTER | π U+1F150 | Capitals only | Yes |

| 5. Parentheses | πβ°βββ§β π£β β³β― β΄β΅βΆ | PARENTHESIZED LATIN LETTER | π U+1F110 | β U+249C | Yes |
Unicode has single characters for whole numbers, not just digits. Circled 1 to 20 are in Enclosed Alphanumerics. Circled 21 to 50 are in the Enclosed CJK Letters and Months block.
| Style | Whole numbers | Samples | Zero | Code points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bubble | 1β50 | β β© β³ γ γ γ± γΏ | βͺ | 1 U+2460, 10 U+2469, 20 U+2473, 21 U+3251, 35 U+325F, 36 U+32B1, 50 U+32BF |
| Black bubble | 1β20 | βΆ βΏ β« β΄ | βΏ | 1 U+2776, 10 U+277F, 11 U+24EB, 20 U+24F4 |
| Parentheses | 1β20 | β΄ β½ β | None | 1 U+2474, 10 U+247D, 20 U+2487 |
With Whole numbers on, "Top 10 in 2026" becomes βββ β© ββ β‘βͺβ‘β₯. Digit by digit, it is βββ β βͺ ββ β‘βͺβ‘β₯.
Every bubble letter counts as 2 toward X's 280 limit. Letters from the supplement are also 2 UTF-16 code units each.

Five bubble letters have the Unicode Emoji property: β π ° π ± π Ύ π Ώ. Depending on the app, they can appear as color emoji in the middle of your word. Unicode's chart labels π ° and π ± as blood types, and gives black bubble letters signage meanings such as π airport, π hotel, and π parking space.
Search boxes that compare characters exactly treat βββ‘βββ and hiring as different words. Unicode NFKC normalization converts some styles back to plain letters, but not all of them:
| Style | Letter | After NFKC |
|---|---|---|
| Bubble | β | a |
| Black bubble | π | Unchanged |
| Square | π° | A |
| Black square | π ° | Unchanged |
| Parentheses | β | (a) |
The Bubble to plain text mode uses its own table, so it converts every style, including black bubbles and black squares.
| Year | Event |
|---|---|
| 1993 | Unicode 1.1 includes the Enclosed Alphanumerics block, U+2460 to U+24FF, with white bubble letters and circled numbers. |
| 2009β2010 | Unicode 5.2 and 6.0 fill the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement, U+1F100 to U+1F1FF, with parenthesized capitals, squared letters, and black circled and squared letters. |
| 2010 | Unicode 6.0 adds the emoji set from Japanese mobile carriers. Today π ° π ± π Ύ π Ώ and β carry the Emoji property as well as being letters. |
