Unicode has italic letters but no italic digits, so numbers and punctuation stay as typed. Screen readers and search may not read Unicode italics as words, so keep names, links, and hashtags in plain text.
An italics generator swaps each letter of your text for a slanted Unicode character, so "Italic Text" becomes 𝐼𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑇𝑒𝑥𝑡. Because the result is text, not formatting, it keeps its slant in Instagram captions, TikTok bios, usernames, and anywhere else that has no italic button.

These apps turn a short code into real italics, which screen readers and search handle better than Unicode letters. The generator writes each code line by line.

In WhatsApp and Slack, single asterisks make text bold, not italic. In HTML, <em> marks stress emphasis, while <i> marks an alternate voice, such as a foreign phrase, a technical term, or a ship name.
Instagram and TikTok captions and most profile bios have no italic formatting, which is where the Unicode styles come in.
Choose Back to plain and paste. The generator removes <em> and <i> tags, then applies NFKC normalization, which maps every Unicode italic letter, including ℎ and italic Greek, to its ordinary form. It works on italic text copied from any site.
Unicode itself advises that math letters are for math, not styling. Use them for a word or phrase, and keep names, links, and hashtags in plain text so everyone can read and find them.
